Immunogen: Synaptophysin c-terminal peptide

Synaptophysin is a 38 kDa glycoprotein present in the membrane of neuronal presynaptic vesicles in brain, spinal cord, retina, vesicles of adrenal medulla, neuromuscular junctions, and endocrine cells. It is also expressed by neuroendocrine cells throughout the body, both normal and neoplastic. Synaptophysin is a useful marker for the identification of normal neuroendocrine cells and neuroblatomas.
It is also suspected to play a role in Respiratory Disorders (i.e. sleep apnea) and Lewy Body Neurodegenerative Diseases.
Synaptophysin Customer Publications/See Customer Data for Western Blot
Customer Testimonial: "The synaptophysin antibody works very nice. We are currently using it to verify membrane localization of other proteins for IHC, and as a membrane fraction loading control for western. I think we will have a publication sent out soon using it, I'll let you know." Courtesy of Dan Harrigan, Mitchell Lab, UW-Madison.
